A few days ago, I got several inquiries on my blogs about where I go for my yoga classes here in the south. I actually started my own practice with that same question, but of course, I had asked someone else about it hehe. Well, I’m glad to say that there are several shalas to choose from in this area. One of the places I go to is Ekagrata Sala in Alabang (check out www.ekagratasala.wordpress.com for contact details). That’s mostly where I do my Ashtanga practice.

Earlier this month, Flow Yoga Center at the Casa Susana (right beside Alabang Town Center) opened it’s doors.  It is located in the side closer to Town Center, near D’Marks on the upper level. I attended a Yin workshop there about a week ago. It’s a very nice space, I must say I love the color scheme of the place I’m not so sure if they have a website or what not, but if and when I have the chance to, I’ll post their flyer here for your reference

Not too long ago, on the way to a beach trip to Punta Fuego, my friends and I took a short detour around Nuvali, a relatively new development around the growing city of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. I was amazed at how beautiful it was, not only because of the structures, but also on how it was able to keep a very “green” facade to it all. My friend Sandy told me that more than just keeping the greens, the area even recycles water and really values environmental sustainability. This is a refreshing change from the usual goals of modern development, wouldn’t you think?

At first I thought it was merely a commercial center (we passed by the area where there were outlet stores and restaurants) but apparently I was wrong Amidst the 1,750-hectare metropolis, complete with educational, recreational and leisure establishments, is Avida Village Nuvali.

Avida Village Nuvali also features a multi-purpose hall, basketball court, swimming pool and play area, and several pocket parks. Plus it has interconnected alleys and accessible neighborhood stores. As such, the need to depend on cars or private vehicles is greatly reduced. Imagine living in a community where you are not bothered by the sounds of tricycles at all times of day?

Whenever I travel, I get a lot of flak from my companions because I can never travel light. In fact, even for just a short overnight trip, I often lug around one of those travelling bags with wheels. I blame this on the fact that I have to bring along my pillow and blanket wherever I go, especially since I get allergies to some hotel pillows (even though they’re clean!). Every day my battle with weight loss is becoming a more and more public one. I realized that because I used to hide the fact that I was aiming to lose weight a secret, it was harder to live up to it, so I decided to blog about in one of my other sites.

Yesterday, I was so flattered to receive confirmation that Fat Girl No More was nominated as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010!

I’m thankful to my blogger friends for their vote of confidence, not only in my blog, but in my journey towards weight loss.  Through their support and words of inspiration make me more and more motivated in sticking to my decision to make a change. I know now that weight loss is more than simply searching for the top diet pill, program or exercise. Rather, it is a choice one makes and sticks to.

I hope that in the next few months, a lot of good happens in this diet of mine! Also, if you plan on joining the influential blogger writing contest, perhaps I can invite you to consider Fat Girl No More!
