On Collections

I was cleaning up my room over the holidays and finally decided to give up on some of my collections. I realized that this would be a good way to practice that art of non-attachment that my yoga teachers keep talking about. In my lifetime, I’ve gone through phases of collecting stickers (Lisa Frank was the best!), stationary (specially the pretty, pretty ones!), bookmarks, Happy Meal toys(I did get almost 90 of the 101 Dalmatians), stamps, coins (I never did find that eisenhower dollar that we used to joke about), and so on and so forth. But yeah, I have overgrown them now. I keep thinking that if I hold on to it, it will eventually cost a lot on ebay or something. In the meantime, however, it continues to collect dust. Not right. And so I’m giving them up.

What about you? Any collections you keep? Do share.
