The Nightmare Continues

Ooooh….how intriguing does my title go!!!

Seriously though, a few nights ago I caught the press screening of the newest Nightmare on Elm Street movie. As a child, I remember seeing trailers and clips of this but I never watched it because I used to be too scared and freaked out at the thought of the movie. Finally, now that I’m an adult, I decided to give it a shot.

In this new Nightmare, Freddy Kreuger (played by Jackie Earle Haley) returns to haunt the dreams of a group of local teenagers. At first they think their dreams are just dreams, but before they know it, they find themselves running for their lives as they are stalked by the horribly disfigured killer.

Well,I survived the screening! I have to say it wasn’t as scary as I imagined it would be but it was a scream fest though 🙂 I loved watching it in the big screen because it was more thrilling to be in a dark room with a group of other viewers who would all jump in their seats or cringe in fright just at the right time. Given that it is a horror film, the standard, to be expected scenes in any horror flick is there, but I loved how even if I was anticipating it, I’d be proven wrong by the next scene shown 🙂

Peaked your curiosity yet? Go check out the new Nightmare on Elm Street starting tomorrow, May 12, 2010 in a theater near you 🙂 Nightmare on Elm Street also stars Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker and Kellan Lutz, directed by Samuel Bayer,  and is presented by Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with New Line Cinema.

I will surely watch this one. I saw the previous Nightmare on Elm Street movies and really liked them. I remember Johnny Depp being in one of them.
