Sunny Days, Shadows and My Bubba.

I don’t usually combine my memes, but this week, I found the perfect shot for both Shadow Shot Sunday and Camera Critters.

I love taking my Bubba to the beach. I think he enjoys it too, although the first time I took him his feet got all cut up and infected. I knew better the next time I took him…I got him some doggy shoes!

My Painted Soul.

This weeks PhotoHunt theme is Painted. I thought long and hard about what to share. I wanted to take a photo of my classroom wall which has a garden theme “painted” in it, but since I didn’t really use paint to make it (I used paper and glued them to the wall) I opted on this instead.

The painting of the mandala in the bottom left hand side is my art piece! A year and a half ago, Filipino artists everywhere were invited by an up and coming magazine entitled “Art in Site” to participate in their Covers Project. The goal was to create 3000 unique covers for each of the 3000 inaugural issues they were printing. During the launch of the magazine, over 1000 of the magazines were displayed at the Ayala Museum. It seemed improbable to find mine in the stacks but after looking around, my cousin found my piece :-)

This piece was entitled “A Million Little Pieces of Me”. I painted it with glitter pens in the midst of a very dark and trying time in my life. In many ways, it represented who I was at that time in my life and in my quest to piece together all the million pieces of me in search of wholeness. It is indeed, my painted soul.

Sky’s Promise.

After a drizzly afternoon in the Philippines’ Summer Capital, Baguio City, I was pleasantly surprised with one of the fullest rainbows I have ever seen. I am used to seeing half of a rainbow, or just the sloped part of a rainbow, but not the bow per se…in person it was even more amazing as it literally drew a line across the sky. It was one of those moments one wished they had a great camera to capture the entire thing, but my P&S Olympus cam didn’t do too shabbily I’d have to say!

Happy Skywatch Friday! Click here for more pretty and awesome sky shots.

Nang Matapos. (In the End)

With no further ado, ito ang aking naisipang komposisyon ngayong linggo.

I kept on thinking on what I would do for this weeks LP. Unfortunately, I remembered the theme wrong, somewhat. I thought the theme would be “at the end”. Although there is some semblance between the correct theme and my mistaken theme. Maybe this was my Unconsciouses way of telling me that it is time to end a mistake.

With no further ado, this is my composition this week.

I think this is the most apt symbol for ending a big mistake. For me, this marks my way of ending what, as Sheryl Crow sang, “My favorite mistake”. For you, my favorite mistake. This is it. This is the end. This is the end of my holding on, and with this I hope that I can finally move forward.

PS eeewww…I just realized…the laptop is dirty!!!

Window Viewing.

I enjoyed strolling down the old-fashioned streets of Enchanted Kingdom, the Philippine’s premiere theme park last Sunday. While enjoying my stroll down memory lane, I enjoyed looking through these fabulous display windows!

Quiet Summer Moments.

On a recent trip to Palawan, I was able to find these shell curtains that I fell in love with. When I got home, I hung them by my window and every night, the sounds of the shells gently clanging on each other lulls me to sleep. I caught this cute scene between my niece and my cousin as they had a quiet little moment by my window.
